What I Did:
I downloaded a Texas Rangers stencil and created a Josh-o-lantern. (Josh Hamilton is a great Rangers baseball player).
How I Did It:
I used the stencil to carve out the letters spelling "Rangers." I downloaded the stencil from texasrangers.com and printed it out. I taped it to the pumpkin using scotch tape. I bought a pumpkin carving kit last Halloween for 50% off and was surprised at how the tools worked much better than a knife. It was like using a teeny saw. It took about 90 minutes from start to finish. I inserted a couple of tea lights inside. I'm no Martha Stewart, but it turned out ok. Now I have a great Texas Rangers World Series memory for my photo album.
Lessons Learned
- Do not ask the husband for help. If he breaks off your pumpkin's stem, he should remember that you have sharp objects in your hands. Proceed with caution.
